The journey from drawing board to finished wheel begins with selecting some of Earth’s most tough, durable and malleable raw materials. We use only high-quality aluminum and metal alloys, a material that will stand the test of time and is 100% recyclable.
The metal is then molten and made to cool in high-precision casts that spin around to distribute the material evenly. After gravity has done its work, the wheel is inspected and checked for irregularities and air pockets. Some Nitro wheels are not forged but flow-formed, a technology that stretches and compresses the aluminum and lets us create even thinner and stronger designs.
When the wheel has gained its shape, it’s time to focus on its aestethic appearance. At this stage in the production process, we employ a combination of painting, polishing, brushing and powder coating to make each design come to life. As perfection is in the details, all work is done by hand.
The world would be a boring place without colour. Our powder-based colours are carefully selected to create a visual impression that looks just as good on its own as together with modern car finishes. The rich, vibrant colours are covered with several layers of clear coats to withstand dirt, scratches and other unwelcome passengers.
